Build a musical band.
For this unit we learned about waves, particles, and how they work. Our project was to design and build 3 instruments that were chime, string and wind. Each Instrument needed to play a full octave, from note C to Note C, so 8 notes in total. Out group decided to build a pan flute, a guitar and a chime piano. For this unit, we learned about waves, particles, and how they can transfer energy. Our unit saw two parts, the design and creation of our own musical instruments For this unit, we learned about waves, particles, and how they can transfer energy. Concepts.
Transverse Wave - A wave where particle movement is perpendicular to wave motion. Examples of these are gamma rays, radio waves and visable light.
Longitudinal Wave - This is wave where particle movement is parallel to wave motion. An example of these waves are sound waves. They do require a medium to transfer energy.
Wave Speed (v) - The velocity of a wave. It is found by using the equation v = λf. Unit is m/s
Wavelength (λ) - The length of a wave from one point to another. These can be the crests or the troughs. This can be calculated by using the manipulated equation λ = v/f. Unit is meters.
Frequency (f) - The amount of waves in one second. This is found by using the equation f = v/λ or f = 1/T. Unit is hertz
Period (T) - The time for one wave. It is found by using the equation T = 1/f. Unit is seconds.
Amplitude (A) - This is the height of magnitude of a wave. It is the distance from a crest or trough to the mid line.

I really enjoyed doing this project but I had some flaws with working and working with groups. I felt like i didn't have a real purpose in this project, i didn't have an instrument to work on so I just jumped from instrument to instrument. I also didn't feel like I was focused during the end, I was constantly distracted, partly because i didn't have an instrument that was mine to work on and partly because i felt bored with the project. But i didn't have some strengths, I felt like i help out a lot in the beginning with the guitar and pan flute. I think this was one of my poorer projects i just couldnt keep focused and on task even though I liked the project.
